This walk keeps you within a tight radius of The MAve Hotel at 62 Madison Avenue while still hitting some of the most photographed blocks in Manhattan. Plan on two to three hours if you want coffee, photos, and a sit-down in the park. If you are comparing room types before you book, browse accommodations and read Inside The MAve for how the hotel fits business and leisure stays.

Step-by-step route
1. Start on Madison at 27th. Exit the hotel and walk south on Madison Avenue toward Madison Square Park. You will see the MetLife clock tower and the green canopy of the park within a few minutes.
2. Cross into Madison Square Park. Use the paved paths to circle the central lawn, check the seasonal art installation on the fence, and grab a drink at the Shake Shack window if the line is short. Otherwise Birch Coffee sits near the hotel on your way back.
3. Flatiron Building photo stop. From the southeast corner of the park, walk toward Broadway and 23rd Street for the classic angle on the triangular facade. Traffic moves fast here, so stay on the curb until the walk signal shows.
4. Lunch or snacks at Eataly. The Italian market hall sits at Broadway and Fifth near 23rd Street. You can assemble a light meal from counters on the main floor if you do not want a full restaurant reservation.
5. Finish at Union Square. Continue south on Broadway or take Park Avenue South for a quieter sidewalk. Union Square Greenmarket runs on scheduled weekdays and Saturdays. Confirm hours on the official market calendar before you plan around produce vendors.
Before you go
Street fairs and film shoots can close sidewalks without much notice. For subway connections back uptown or to Brooklyn, the Union Square station is a major hub. More neighborhood context lives on the hotel Location page and the full Stories archive.
